George Buchanan Architects were approached in November 2015 to assist a growing family with maximising the potential of their property, with wonderful views over the Firth of Clyde.
Together with various sympathetic internal alterations to the main house, we have sought to create exciting additional accommodation in an adjacent, dilapidated barn.
Here, a new structure is to be inserted into the historic barn to allow the family full use of a modern building whilst retaining the existing character of the barn. This incorporates a floating, raised roof structure allowing mezzanine level accommodation with balconies overlooking, light and open double-height living spaces.
An application for Planning Consent was submitted in April 2016.
